Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible for your data

Your data is controlled by LifeDiet. Nutrition care is provided by Rafael Mendes (nutritionist registered in Brazil, CRN-9 10926), the responsible nutritionist, with the help of an AI assistant.

2. What we collect

Account: name, email, password (stored encrypted), sex assigned at birth, language, unit system and time zone.

Health information (sensitive data): health and eating history, goals, allergies, routine, sleep, physical activity, weight and other measurements, progress photos and what you tell us during consultations.

Voice consultations: the audio is processed in real time so the assistant can answer, and we keep a text transcript. We do not store the audio recording.

App use: meals marked as done, water logged, messages with your nutritionist and technical access logs (date, time and IP address) kept for security.

3. How we use it

To run your nutrition consultation, build your meal plan (always reviewed and approved by the nutritionist before you see it), follow your progress and talk with you.

To send necessary emails, such as password resets.

To keep the app secure and working. We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell your data.

4. Legal bases

Health information: your specific, separate consent, given at sign-up, and health care provided by a licensed professional.

Other data: providing the service you signed up for, legal obligations, and our legitimate interest in security and fraud prevention.

5. Who we share it with

The nutritionist responsible for your care.

Service providers that process data on our behalf, only to run the app: OpenAI (voice assistant and text processing; data sent through its API is not used to train its models), Supabase (database and photos), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email) and Stripe (payments; card details stay with Stripe only).

Authorities, when required by law or court order.

6. International transfers

Some providers are located outside your country, mainly in the United States. Transfers are protected by contractual data protection safeguards and made with your consent.

7. How long we keep it

While your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your data, except what the law or professional rules for nutritionists require us to keep longer, which stays protected and is not used for anything else.

Backups are automatically deleted by our providers within 30 days.

8. Your rights

You can access your data, correct it, get a copy (portability), ask us to delete it, learn who we share it with and withdraw your consent at any time. We will not discriminate against you for using these rights.

In the app, go to Profile › Privacy and data to download all your data or delete your account. For anything else, email privacidade@lifediet.app.

Withdrawing consent for health information means we can no longer provide care through the app.

9. U.S. state privacy rights

We do not sell or share your personal information for targeted advertising. We collect and use your consumer health data only with your consent and only to provide your care. Depending on your state (for example, California or Washington), you have additional rights to know, access, correct and delete your data and to withdraw consent. Use the options in your Profile or email privacidade@lifediet.app.

10. Cookies

We only use essential cookies: one to keep you signed in, one to remember your language and one to remember that you saw the cookie notice. We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.

11. Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted passwords, private photo storage and restricted access to data. If a security incident could put you at risk, we will notify you and the competent authorities.

12. Children

The app is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

13. Changes to this policy

If we make an important change, we will tell you in the app and ask you to confirm before you keep using it.
